Resumen: The 1937 Constitution of Ireland, Bunreacht na hÉireann, was one of several external influences on the committee representing the main Spanish parties (la Ponencia) that originally drafted the Spanish Constitution of 1978. The "Governing Principles of Economic and Social Policy" which appear in Articles 39-52 of Spain's Constitution were inspired by Article 45 of the Irish Constitution. Article 45 is titled the "Directive Principles of Social Policy" and it also provided the inspiration for the corresponding provisions in the Indian Constitution of 1949. |
