Resumen: One of the issues which clearly comes within the scope of regulation of the Constitution is relation between international law and internal legal system. After regaining independence in 1990, international law, especially international treaties, have an ever increasing impact on Lithuania’s legal system. Statistics shows that the Republic of Lithuania has concluded more than five hundred international agreements with other states or international organisations during the period of 1990-1998. Turning to provisions of the Lithuanian Constitution on this issue, it should be noted that they are strikingly close to those established by the Spanish Constitution of 1978. |
Sumario: 1. Lithuania’s Constitution and International Law.- 2. Constitutional basis of Lithuania’s Accession to the European Union. |
